Global Warming Mail Art Exchange 1of3, transcribed

About the same time I was corresponding with Shawn Hebrank on the "I B 1, 2" project, I engaged in a Mail Art exchange with a couple of women on the "Tribes" social network (similar to My Space, but not as in-depth...). We decided that we would each create 2 postcards, divided into 3 sections, similar to an "Exquisite Corpse" project, wherein one contributing member's portion of a work "blends into" the next. The postcards would then be sent to the other two participants, who would then complete their portion, and forward the card on.
As is the case with most Mail Art projects, you take a chance on all participants fullfilling their end of the bargain...Out of 6 cards, 2 of which were mine, only 3 ever hit my mail box, and my 2 disappeared into the ether...The last of these is the only one to have made it to all three of us, which I completed and returned to the original sender. It was a fun project, although it would have been more enjoyable if I had received my cards back...
Of course, if I had been more informed back then, I would have approached the subject much differently, with a "this topic is bullshit," perspective...lol!
